Topic: Separation of Duties
Why a project deserves a project manager and business analyst

About the topic:
This presentation is designed to help the audience realize the need for a separation of duties between the PM and BA roles, to understand the pitfalls of combining the roles, and to learn ways to prevent the dual role situation or survive it if you can’t avoid it.

About the speaker:
Michael Vinje, PMP, Principal and Founder of Trissential

To assess, lead, manage, measure and control risky projects — these are the areas where Michael has honed his expertise over two decades. A vanguard on continual organizational improvement, a Senior Certified Project Manager as well as an IT and software engineering specialist, Michael brings the discipline and rigor sought out by Fortune 500 companies.

As a strong motivator and mentor, Michael leads the team well; Trissential’s strength in project delivery is due to the high bar Michael sets. His experience working at every level of implementation makes him an indispensable asset on any project.

Michael is a regular speaker and columnist, and has earned the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) professional certification, PMP (Project Management Professional) and is an IEEE enthusiast. He is also involved in PMI, IIBA, CEO roundtables, Vistage, SIM, SPIN, and ITA Wisconsin.

PDUs:

Registered PMPs attending either meeting can earn one Professional Development Unit (PDU). If you are a PMP, please submit this PDU after the meeting by visiting www.pmi.org. Save your meeting receipt; it will serve as evidence in the case of an audit by PMI National.
