Topic: Transforming Health Care: Project Management and Innovation facilitated by Kim Savolainen

We are faced many big questions as we work toward transforming health care for the future. Will it be affordable? Will it be effective? How much intervention is necessary? Will it be available? As we embark on this path together, we need to think differently about how we approach these and other challenges in the world. The Center for Innovation at Mayo Clinic is trying different approaches to address these challenges. Kim will share ideas and examples from her experience at the Center for Innovation. Key tactics will be proposed and discussed as a group.

Kim Savolainen is a Senior Project Manager for the Center for Innovation at Mayo Clinic. The Center for Innovation is a unique clinical laboratory where design and strategy are blended together to create healthcare service innovations. Kim focuses on facilitating ideas and concepts through the Center’s innovation methodology and on managing innovation projects. Her prior experience includes managing various projects for Mayo Clinic Health Solutions and consulting in medical device development. She holds a BS in Electrical Engineering, a MA in Management, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
