Becky Schmieding is a PMI certified Project Management Professional. She started her professional career at IBM in 1978 as an operating systems programmer. Throughout her career at IBM She has held a variety of jobs including management, providing technical and marketing support for IBM Asia Pacific Marketing, coordinating early product delivery programs in Europe, and serving as project manager for a product development team (PDT) for cell-based products. She achieved the status of Executive Project Manager before retiring in 2009 after almost 31 years. In 2009, she joined the Mayo Clinic as a Project Manager in the Advanced Genomics Research Technical Center. She is now working as a project manager for the Mayo Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) helping with the ICD-10 mega project.
Becky is a published technical author and an award-winning speaker. In 1978, Becky received her Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics and Commercial Economics from South Dakota State University. In 2005, she received a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and in 2006 she received a Masters of Project Management from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. In her spare time Becky enjoys reading, theater, golf and basketball.
