“Managing the Seven Stakeholders of Oktoberfest: Blending Traditions and an Outside Perspective” Minimize

The 50 year old fall festival, Oktoberfest, USA, is a celebration deeply rooted in heritage and traditions.  Over the years, people have dedicated their time, effort, and funds to ensure that the main focus on the festival is still closely linked to the Oktoberfest held in Munich, Germany.  Marketing Oktoberfest, USA was easy.  Administering it and managing all the groups of people and ideas that flow into the half-century old celebration…that was not so easy.

There are seven different stakeholders involved in Oktoberfest.  Each stakeholder group is considered a fairly well oiled-machine in their own areas, but sometimes lack vision of how their actions can affect other stakeholders involved in Oktoberfest.

In this presentation, we will cover what each stakeholder of Oktoberfest required and how the vastly different groups needs were met with the most efficiency that I could in the timeframe I was given.  We will see what roadblocks occurred, what processes worked perfectly, and what I want to improve upon for the 2011 Oktoberfest.
