Cori Skolaski is the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity-La Crosse Area and the Habitat ReStore and has been so since 2002. Her organization serves a four county area – Vernon, La Crosse, and Trempealeau in Wisconsin, and Houston Minnesota.
Cori has spent most of her career working for nonprofits; prior to Habitat for Humanity she worked for ten years as the development director for a public radio station. She is a member of the US Council of Habitat for Humanity International’s Disciplinary Committee, and she serves on the board of directors of Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School and on the board of directors of Driftless Community Radio, both in Viroqua. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Russian from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Founded locally in 1992, Habitat for Humanity-La Crosse Area has built or rehabbed 31 homes with three currently under production, and it is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat for Humanity affiliates are located in over 200 countries around the world, in all 50 states, and there are more than 40 in Wisconsin. The mission of Habitat for Humanity is to eliminate poverty housing through new construction, rehabs, and renovations, and recently Habitat for Humanity was ranked as the eighth largest homebuilder in the United States by Builder Magazine.
