Jack Sauls is the manager of the Positive Displacement Compressor Design group at Trane, La Crosse, part of the Ingersoll Rand Climate Solutions sector. He has worked at Trane for 37 years, primarily involved in the development of compressors for commercial air conditioning equipment. The group he leads is responsible for the development and application of technologies in the design of screw, scroll and reciprocating compressors.
Concerning the issue of volunteer projects, Jack has visited the Dominican Republic seven times since 2003 and has made visits to Uganda in 2006, 2008 and 2010. He has served as the team leader for five of the trips to the Dominican Republic and all of the Uganda visits. He is the chairman of the Missions committee at his church and is also chairman of the board for GBM/TCH, a mission providing radio broadcasts in the US and services to broadcasters around the world.
Jack received his Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1970. He worked in the aerospace industry for jet engine manufacturers Pratt & Whitney and Avco-Lycoming before joining Trane in 1973.
